Field Survey for CRSA in Papua and East Java Province
Between February 5th and 16th, 2018, a dedicated team from RDI embarked on a field observation mission spanning Papua and East Java provinces. This undertaking was a crucial component of the Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) project commissioned by Save the Children. The team was led by Dr. Akino Midhany in Papua province and Ms. Elisabeth Rianawati in East Java Province.
Throughout this mission, the team engaged in various activities, including interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and consultations with schools and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The primary aim of these efforts was to gain comprehensive insights into the prevailing conditions of child rights in each of these regions.
Subsequent to the fieldwork, RDI initiated a comprehensive situation analysis to further comprehend the systems supporting child rights in these areas. The collected data will undergo analysis from four distinct angles:
- **Extent of Realization:** Evaluating the degree to which child rights have been realized in the respective regions.
- **Marginalization Analysis:** Identifying groups of children who are most marginalized and vulnerable.
- **Policy Analysis:** Scrutinizing the extent and anticipated trends regarding the ability of stakeholders, duty bearers, and key actors to safeguard child rights.
- **Opportunities and Constraints Identification:** Recognizing both opportunities and constraints within the context of child rights.
This diligent and multifaceted analysis will serve to provide a holistic understanding of the child rights situation in Papua and East Java provinces, ultimately contributing to informed decision-making and policy recommendations to advance the cause of child rights in these regions.
