Hands-on Training Workshop of Flood Inundation Modelling and Assessment for Jakarta, Indonesia
On August 23-24, 2017, the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNI-IAS) conducted a consultation workshop focusing on the water and urban initiative. This event also featured hands-on training sessions on water quality, specifically titled "Hands-on Training Workshop of Flood Inundation Modeling and Assessment for Jakarta, Indonesia." The venue for this workshop and training was the Grand Kemang Hotel in Jakarta.
The primary objectives of this event were as follows:
1. Disseminating the findings of UNI-IAS's study.
2. Exploring viable strategies for managing flood risks to enhance the urban water environment of Jakarta.
3. Establishing suitable models for future flood damage assessment, taking into consideration the potential impacts of climate change in the city.
4. Collaborating with policymakers, academia, and researchers to facilitate the transfer of technology for flood mitigation efforts in Jakarta.
The workshop drew participation from various stakeholders, including local government agencies from DKI Jakarta Province, national government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and practitioners. Notably, two RDI researchers, Ramanditya Wimbardana and Irsyad Kharisma, attended this informative event.
