Dr. Bony Wiem Lestari is a medical doctor with 21 years of working experience, holding a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Her professional career spans various roles, including clinician, public health practitioner, researcher, and lecturer. Her current research interests focus on infectious disease control, epidemiology, and quality of care.
Dr. Bony’s work has connected her with numerous collaborative partners, including the Ministry of Health, governmental and non-governmental institutions, and international universities such as Otago University, Radboud University Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and McGill University. She has also collaborated with international companies.
Throughout her career, she has played a significant role in planning, organizing, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluating various infectious diseases programs. Currently, Dr. Bony holds the position of a postdoctoral research fellow at Radboud Institute for Health Sciences in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, where she is focused on evaluating the cascade of care for drug-resistant TB control in West Java Province, Indonesia. Since 2009, she works as Lecturer at Department of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran. She also contributing as Senior research fellow at RC3ID Universitas Padjadjaran since 2017.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, Dr. Bony was actively involved in the West Java Task Force and served as an advisor for the West Java Provincial Health Office. Her contributions include the development of a contact tracing training module for healthcare workers and the creation of a roadmap for COVID-19 control in West Java.
