I hold a Ph.D. in Anthropology, which I pursued at The Australian National University in Australia. This educational endeavor was made possible through the Australian Development Scholarship, and I completed it from 2001 to 2006. Prior to this, I earned an MA in Sociology from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, fully supported by the British Chevening Award, a pursuit that spanned from 1994 to 1996. My academic journey began with a BA in Communication at Padjadjaran University in Indonesia, where I studied from 1986 to 1991.
My professional journey spans over three decades, during which I have actively engaged in research and program development focusing on gender, human rights, and development. These endeavors have been funded by international organizations and government agencies. From January 2015 to January 2018, I served as a commissioner at the National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan), where I contributed to programs aimed at eradicating violence against women. Within the academic realm, I have been a lecturer since 1996 in the Public Administration Department and, since 2008, in the Master in Social Science Program at the School of Social and Political Sciences, Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung, Indonesia. In these roles, I have led courses on topics such as public policy, development theories, gender and development, and qualitative research methods.
In 2023, Dr. Indraswari involved in joint research between Parahyangan Catholic University Bandung and Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University Serang about Integrates Strategies to Solve Stunting Problem in Banten Province.
