Dr. Saut Sagala is the cluster chair of Disaster & Climate Resilience, Resilience Development Initiative (RDI), Indonesia (since 2013). He is also a researcher & lecturer at the Regional and City Planning Department, Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) (since 2009). His works have been on interdisciplinary and resilience studies including on interdisciplinary and resilience studies including policy analysis, housing and settlement, rehabilitation construction, infrastructure planning and management, risk financing and monitoring and evaluation, for many international & national clients for the last 21 years. Saut also has strong networks with international community, agencies, and institutions, such as ASEAN, UN, Development Banks (WB, ADB, IDB, JBIC), association & consortium (GNDR, IDRIM, DiBiCoo, CRESUM HYRES). Saut has strong networks & working experiences with GoI (Government of Indonesia) in development related ministries, such as: Ministry of Planning and Development (Bappenas), Ministry of Public Works & Housing, Ministry of Spatial Planning and Agrarian, Ministry of Social Affairs, National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). He often is asked as resource persons in national ministry and local government activities (> 100 in total). Saut also teaches at University of Indonesia (2022), on Insurance and Disaster Course (6 lectures).
