RDI-BGS DAY #2: UNDERSTANDING GEOLOGICAL HAZARDS TO SUPPORT DISASTERS RISK ASSESSMENT IN INDONESIA
This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn, discuss and offer a forum to explore research topics on understanding, measuring, mitigation and modelling of multi-geological hazards in Indonesia. We will focus on elaborating and discussing the geological hazards and the assessment methods, as well as geological hazards and the communication, implementation, as well as policies on this workshop. The first day will be focused on earthquake and landslide hazards, then volcanic and tsunami hazards on the second day. Beside aiming to stimulate the key actors and public understanding and awareness of various hazards, this workshop will present some case studies to encourage the implementation and continuity of previous research and explore new approaches on addressing catastrophic disasters or potential impactful hazards that are still not well-assessed. We hope this workshop series will support government and agencies at national and local level, communities, experts from organizations, and all relevant stakeholders, and ensure each entity can contribute to upstream discussion on emerging issues related to geological hazards and mitigation to strengthen Indonesia’s resiliency in the future.
