On September 14-15, 2023, Tiffany Salikha, Farijzal Arrafisena (RDI Program Officer), and Mr. Harijanto Tjahjono organized the ASEAN Certification for Experts in Disaster Management (ASCEND) Workshop for Framework and Sustainability. The workshop aimed to gather insights for developing the new ASCEND Framework and the Sustainability Strategy. Day one began with opening remarks by AHA Centre’s Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Khrisna Putra Tanaja, followed by a presentation from the Director of the Korean National Fire Agency. The day involved a peer review of the ASCEND Framework led by RDI and a session on ASCEND’s sustainability. On day two, a self-assessment using Program Sustainability Assessment Tools (PSAT) kicked off the workshop, followed by a visioning activity and a discussion of selected variables for the sustainability strategy.
