Background:
Indonesia has a high rate of institutionalization, with roughly half a million children living in childcare institutions. Save the Children, UNICEF, and the government of Indonesia conducted a survey in 2007. Families First (FF) was designed and launched in 2010 through the pilot establishment of PDAK in Bandung City. SCA through ANCP-DFAT funded a continuation program for 4 years (2017-2021) focused on mainstreaming parenting, case management, and children in conflict with the law program into the national level. The project supports 2 provinces that have complex problems with child protection and appropriate care.
Scope:
– current condition of the overall goal
– identify the existing child protection system
– identify the field worker’s roles and capacity
– identify the existing juvenile justice system
Methodology:
–Data collection: desk review, questionnaire survey, key informant interview.
-Data analysis: content analysis.
