Background:
Oxfam is an international non-governmental organization working towards a world without poverty. They have a project called Empower Youth for Work (EYW) in Indonesia, funded by the IKEA Foundation. The project aims to reduce poverty in rural coastal areas by empowering youth, especially young women, to secure viable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. By 2021, the project will benefit 115, 493 youth, with 70% being young women. Oxfam is seeking highly qualified consultants to update the current context and get more detailed information on targeted locations and beneficiaries. Parents and community members will be involved in creating an enabling and healthy environment for youth to become self-reliant and develop their enterprises and entrepreneurship. Government and companies will be engaged and made accountable for increased gender-sensitive and youth-friendly policies.
Aims and Objectives:
To assess, collect, analyze, and document the detailed region’s context of the project locations, the current condition of youth, youth groups, their communities, and existing support system which could enable them to be empowered through project intervention.
