Dr. Fahmi has gained more than 30 years working experience in engineering education, covering research, teaching, and curriculum development, mainly related to environmental engineering topics for both undergraduate and postgraduate program. He is also exposed to professional experiences in wastewater, water supply, and sanitation-related project joining UNICEF, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), and Save the Children (an NGO) that aided in tsunami impact areas in Indonesia from 2004 to 2008. Dr. Fahmi's expertise includes designing and monitoring the construction of small-scale water treatment plant, landfills, sludge treatment plants, hand dug wells, and water distribution systems. In addition, played a role as Environmental Engineer in 2008 for Midterm Evaluation for USAID/Environmental Service Program in Indonesia.
