Summary

Dr. Ayu Krishna is an associate professor at Management Program Faculty of Economics Education and Business, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung, Indonesia. She has 14 years research and consultancy experiences on community based approaches, disaster risk management, social marketing, and gender studies. She has done training and research with Bank Jawa Barat (BJB), West Java Syariah Cooperatives Association and other financial instituions. Currently, she is a member of Forum Management Indonesia (FMI) and ISEI Chapter UPI , Member of Consortium for Disaster Education CDE, Research Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (UPI). Her position as lecturer and researcher in UPI allowed her to build close relationship with small-medium enterprises (UKM) and small-medium industry (IMKM). She is also Senior Fellow at Resilience Development Initiative (www.rdi.or.id), an NGO focused on Resilience Studies and has done several consultancies for Save the Children, Plan International, Oxfam, UNDP and GIZ. She is also research reviewer for REPEASE program 2017 under European Union and Chairman for INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ISLAMIC ECONOMICS, BUSINESS, PHILANTHROPY, AND SOCIAL STUDIES 2017 in UPI.

Working Experiences
    • Consultant, Situational Analysis of Disaster and Climate Change Risks Impact to Children in West Java, Resilience Development Initiative, Bandung. Field Location: West Java Prov, Kab. Garut, Kab. Bandung, Kota Bandung. Main Tasks: (1). collect secondary data on disasters and climate change of West Java. (2). collect data by interviews to Provincial Government Departments, Local Government Departments, focus group discussions to community, focus group discussions to people.(3) Identify needs, problems and challenges of disaster and climate change impacts to children. (4). Propose sets of recommendation for Save the Children Programs.
    • Lead Program Developer and Trainer for Empowering Community Program UPI Development of Tourism Village in Subang 2014, to prepare, develop and implement program for community development especially youth and children in the Sagala Herang Village.
    • Lead Researcher for Event Planning Study for Bandung Planning and Development Agency, 2014 to prepare, develop and implement research on role and effect of Event Marketing on Bandung City.
    • Program Developer and Trainer for Empowering Community Program UPI Development of Tourism Village in Panjalu Village Ciamis 2013- 2014,to prepare, develop and implement program for community development especially young people and children in the Panjalu Village.
    • Communication Specialist, Merangin Geopark Project in 2013, developing program with the local community, collaborating with local government and international Unesco Global Geopark Network Officials to prepare the Merangin Geopark for membership in the GGN.
    • Lead Program Developer and Trainer for Green Young Entrepreneurship Program for UPI Community Empowerment Program 2013, to prepare, develop and implement program for community development especially young entrepreneur in Bandung.
    • Lead Researcher for Tourism Planning Document for Bandung Planning and Development Agency, 2013 to prepare, develop and implement research on Tourism of Bandung Municipality.
    • Lead Program Developer and Trainer for Creative Young Entrepreneurship Program for UPI Community Empowerment Program 2011, to prepare, develop and implement program for community development especially young entrepreneur in Bandung.
    • Lead Researcher, 2012,Research on the UPI’s Gender Profile (Survey on UPI’s Academic Community) for the Center for Research on Women Studies and Art/Culture at LPPM UPI in Bandung, she is one of the lead researcher in the study. Therefore she has the task to design the research proposal, implement the research and develop the research report.
    • In Februari 2011-August 2011, she was appointed as Technical Assistance for GIZ project on development of Guidelines for GHG emission reduction Action Plan, the project location is in Bandung, Jakarta, Bogor and Yogyakarta.
    • In April-June 2010 Ms. Ayu Krishna was involved in the research titled Practical Review of DRR Investments in Recent Natural Disasters in Indonesia was conducted, where she was one of the researchers to examine if gender was mainstreamed in DRR Investments at West Java and West Sumatra. In this research some responsibilities held was to developed research methodology on gender mainstreaming in DRR investments, design research questionnaire on gender in DRR, conduct filed survey in the form of interview with DRR actors such as government, NGO, CBO and beneficiaries, analyze data and develop research report for OXFAM. The project was carried out in West Java (Banjar, Pangandaran, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Bandung) and West sumtra (Padang, Parimanan). She was also responsible for organizing and facilitation for OXFAM’s National and Local Workshop.
    • During 2009 she worked in CDM-ITB at a UNCRD project conducting action research in Earthquake Mitigation for elementary schools, where she develop research proposal, implement research, develop training material and conduct training for school communities at based in Bandung and Soreang.
    • In 2006-2008 She served as technical assistance for Muhammadyah and Nadhatul Ulama under the LPPM-CDM-ITB funded by AusAID. The role for her in this project is to conduct interventions: Provide guidelines, directions, data support to NU and MHD for preparation of proposals, Developing awareness of CBDRM process within NU and MHD for management and Project Management Unit organizations through workshops and training, Technical assistance and facilitation for developing strategic plan for CBDRM program development in NU and MHD,Technical support and assistance in developing CBDRM training modules and materials, Conduct training of trainers for CBDRM process of NU and MHD, Provide assistance in supervision of implementing CBDRM pilot projects in selected target areas. For NU in DKI Jakarta (Jakarta Province), Magelang (Central Java), and Jember (East Java Province). For MHD in Padang (West Sumatera Province), Bengkulu (Bengkulu Province), Garut (West Java Province), and Bantul (Central Java Province).
    • Experience in community based disaster risk reduction, and gender studies starting to work in DM 1999 Indonesian Urban Disaster Mitigation Project (IUDMP-ITB) collaboration between ITB-ADPC funded by USAID.

August-October 2011 is part of the CDM-ITB team as resource person in developing Asia Pacific HEA Regional Resilience Project on Training Manual of Tools, Guidelines for Integration of CBDRM into DME Methodology (LEAP) of World Vision ADPs in Bandung. Her task is to develop outline the appointed subjects of manual and guidelines materials, develop the manual and guidelines and to act as resource persons during the manual testing.
