As part of our collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and Culture Indonesia in studying and evaluating the national safe schools program (Satuan Pendidikan Aman Bencana - SPAB), RDI conducted a series of webinars aimed at creating discussions between stakeholders in order to gain more information and capture existing insights about the current effectiveness and challenges the national program faces in its planning and implementation stages. RDI helped co-organize and facilitate the entire webinar series.
3 webinars were conducted in accordance with the 3 pillars of Safe Schools: Pilar 1 Safe Learning Facilities (Fasilitas Sekolah Aman) led by Dr. Rahma Hanifa on June 18th 2020, Pilar 2 School Disaster Management (Manajemen Bencana di Sekolah) led by Mr. Yusra Tebe on June 19th 2020, Pilar 3 Risk Reduction and Resilience Education (Pendidikan Pencegahan dan Pengurangan Risiko Bencana) led by Dr. Jonatan Lassa on June 23rd 2020. Various stakeholder were involved throughout the 3 webinars, from the national and sub-national government such as the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Religious Affairs; organizations in the non-profit sector such as UNICEF, Plan International and Child Fund; local and regional level CSOs; school teachers and principals; and members of academia.
We would like to express our gratitude once again to those who have participated in our webinars. To access resources from the 3 webinars such as presentation slides and webinar notes, you can access them below.
