Workshop on ASEAN Biomass Conversion Technologies Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Platform (JASTIP)

On Thursday, 27^th January 2022, RDI participated in a Workshop on ASEAN Biomass Conversion Technologies. This workshop was sponsored by Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Platform (JASTIP);  e-ASIA Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP); and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). This workshop was started by an opening remarks by Prof. Armando T. Quitain from Kumamoto University. Next, it was followed by  greetings by Prof. Hideaki Ohgaki from Kyoto University Japan.

The next agenda was a presentation session. There were several presentations with topics related to biomass conversion, and provided by representatives from Curtin University Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Kumamoto University, Chulalongkorn University, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Silpakorn University, Mahidol University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, and RDI.

RDI was represented by our Director, Dr. Elisabeth Rianawati, and Research Officer from Renewable Energy and Emission Reduction (REER) cluster, Amelia Christina. Amelia was presenting "An Assessment of The Policy Opportunities for Driving Sustainable Aviation Fuels in the ASEAN: Case Study from Indonesia and Malaysia". She was elaborating on the updates from the case study in Indonesia and Malaysia. There was also an explanation of some challenges that were found under this study. All and all, RDI was honored to achieve the chance to be a part of this fruitful workshop. We look forward to the upcoming workshop and discussion in near future.
