New RDI Partner: Durham University

As a global think-tank, RDI always thrive to give its highest contribution to sustainable development and resilience studies. Based on that spirit, we have decided to enlarge our network by partnering with Durham University, which is one of the top universities around the globe and consistently ranked in the world top 100 University.

Previously in February 2020, RDI along with Durham University and University of Sumatera Utara held a workshop and field visit in Sinabung, Indonesia. We collaboratively addressed the impact of the Sinabung eruption around the affected area. The workshop was attended by participants coming from various backgrounds such as academicians, government institutions, and NGOs. Through this workshop, RDI & Durham University also signed A Memorandum of Understanding to signal the official commencement of the partnership.

With this newly-formed partnership, both parties wish to expand their activities for mutual benefit in spirit of academic cooperation and friendship. Various activities and collaborations alike academic activities, development of collaborative advocacy, capacity building, and research projects are expected to be achieved through the signing of this MoU.

Looking at the positive collaboration even before the MoU signing, we are optimist that this newly-established partnership will bring insightful and practical result.
