Resilience Development Initiative [RDI] April-June Vol. 4-2

In this newsletter we feature several updates and activities:
1. Final evaluation of Indonesia Post-Disaster Livelihood Recovery Project in Mt. Sinabung and Mt. Kelud
RDI collaborated with FAO, UNDP, and ILO to conduct the final evaluation of Indonesia Post-Disaster Livelihood Recovery Project in Mt. Sinabung and Mt. Kelud.
2. Webinar: Capacity Building For Disasters as Opportunities
RDI had just conducted first open webinar in collaboration with the University of Twente and Arizona State University. Under the topic of Capacity Building For Disasters As Opportunities.
3. Development of Transportation System and Renewable Energy in Central Europe Cities
Dr Ari Tarigan, the cluster chair of Infrastructure Urban Governance, had a unique opportunity to witness the development of transportation system and renewable energy in Central Europe cities (Prague, Brno, Vienna, and Bratislava) from 8 until 17 April 2017.
4. RDI - Leeds PhD Preparatory Workshop + Energy Garden potential for villages field visit
Prof. Jon Lovett from School of Geography provides with tips and knowledge in doing PhD in Leeds University. Participants are from different locations in Indonesia, such as Bali, Sumatra, Jakarta and West Java.
5. Lecture by Mr. Yusra Tebe: “Mobile Banking Information Communication Technology for Disaster Management “
Mr. Yusra Tebe from UNICEF gave a lecture about Mobile Banking Information Communication Technology for Disaster Management
6. Voice of Members
Adryan Sasongko on Participating in Haze and Forest Fires Discussion in UNOCHA headquarter Jakarta, Deidra and Salma on internship experience in RDI, and Yasmina Wulandari on representing RDI during MoA signing with Center of Adaptation and Resilience for Environmental Design Studies (CAREDs) at Unpar.
7. New Publication
New publication titled “Medan City: Development and Governance under the Decentralisation Era�. Published in Cities: The International Journal of UrbanPolicy and Planning
8. New Associate Researcher and Interns
Welcoming new Associate Researcher to RDI: Dhimas Bayu Anindito (ITB), and new Interns: Deidra A. Said (Earlham College), Salma Humaira (ITB), Janelle Falconer (University of Sunshine Coast), and Justyna Green (Murdoch University).
