Dear RDI colleagues,

I am pleased to inform you RDI's Newsletter of 2020 (July - September) Vol. 7-3 has been published.

Featured in this newsletter are several key RDI updates and activities:

  1. Knowledge Management During COVID-19 Pandemic

The current health crisis has drastically changed how public and private entities go about their businesses, and force these entities—along with its members, to shift their efforts virtually. Despite how the pandemic has limited our abilities to utilise traditional means in conducting our activities, shifting our activities virtually can also bring new opportunities, and also give us the necessary circumstances to reflect and evaluate the effectiveness of how we manage or activities. Since RDI has implemented the ‘work from home’ policy since April 2020, we have been striving to shift our research dissemination efforts online by held some webinars and virtual events as well as improve our overall knowledge management process.
  2. COVID-19 Webinar Series, in collaboration with ASB, CDP, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, etc.

RDI has organised two webinars from our COVID-19 working groups. On July 23rd, 2020, the first COVID-19 webinar series was held through Youtube live with the theme of: "The Impact of COVID-19 on The Tourism Sector and Transition to New Normal". The second webinar was held on Wednesday, 2nd September 2020 with the theme of "Post COVID-19 Waste Management from Policy, Environment, and Technology Perspectives".

In August 2020, RDI Urban Refugees Research Group has launched Pop Up Discussion (PUD) Series via Zoom and YouTube Live platforms, with the first PUD commenced on August 14th 2020. This first series was as an introduction of the remaining seven PUD that will be conducted during the next four months.

RDI conducted the first SEARCH webinar series with the theme of : "Lessons Learned from the Non Governmental Actors on the Implementation of Inclusive and Adaptive Disaster Response in Southeast Asia" on Tuesday, 25th August 2020. The second SEARCH webinar will be held on Wednesday, 7th October 2020.
