The ASEAN Standards and Certification for Experts in Disaster Management (ASCEND) Trial Simulation took place at the Swiss-Belinn Hotel in Bogor from November 22 to 25, 2022, hosted by the AHA Centre with support from RDI and LSP BNPB. Participants included assessors, observers, experts, and candidates from various ASEAN Member States and organizations. The event began with an overview of the ASCEND Project and a workshop on assessment planning, followed by a dry run for the assessment process. The final day included assessments of candidates’ knowledge and competence, culminating in an evaluation workshop and a talk show on the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from the trial simulation.
