Background:
Plan International is an independent human and child rights organization who are committed to making children live free from poverty, violence, and injustice. During the 75 years, Plan has built a strong partnership and is now working in more than 70 countries. In Indonesia, Plan International has started its work since 1969 and is currently working in seven provinces and sponsored more than 40,000 children. Now, with the support of Plan South Korea, Mirae Asset Daewoo and KOICA, Plan International Indonesia is implementing the Rural Safe Schools Initiative project. The project, which lasted three years (March 2015- April 2018) implemented in 15 (fifteen) Primary Schools in 6 districts in South Timor Tengah. Until the 2nd year, the project has been running at 10 elementary schools.
Aims and Objectives:
To develop recommendations for improving the quality of activities remaining in the project, especially in terms of design, approach, implementation and performance, partnerships, and sustainability.
Scope:
The project’s main activities encompass the capacity building of the school’s disaster preparedness and strengthening the structure of the school building (retrofitting) to be more secure against disaster threats.
