As a research organization, RDI sets and conducts research developed by seven research clusters:
Renewable Energy and Emission Reduction (REER), Disaster and Climate Resilience (DCR), Water and Waste Management (WWM), Tourism and Cultural Heritage (TCH), Children, Social Welfare and Health (CSWH), Regional and Urban Policy (RUP) and Finance and Business Management (FBM).

To enrich the quality of research and to broaden the resilience knowledge, RDI is keen to foster interdisciplinary research collaboration with individual researchers, as well as institutions outside of RDI.
