Water Security and Climate Change Conference

The Water Security and Climate Change Conference (WSCC 2016) was jointly organized by the CNRD Center at TH Köln, Germany, and the SWINDON Center at TU Braunschweig, Germany, in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). This conference served as a platform for bringing together leading experts from both the region and beyond to engage in discussions pertaining to water security issues in Asia. Its primary goal was to facilitate the journey towards creating water-secure societies.

Participants hailed from various Asian countries, including Thailand, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, Cambodia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, as well as from other nations such as Australia and Germany. The overarching theme of the conference revolved around presenting challenges and opportunities related to water security and climate change in Asia. During the conference, Alpian presented an RDI working paper titled "A Resilience Perspective on Water Management in Indonesia."
