The event commenced with opening remarks by Colonel (R) Muhd. Harrith Rashidi (Director of Brunei National Disaster Management Center), followed by Raditya Jati (Deputy Minister on System and Strategy, BNPB Indonesia), Mr. Lukas Gadjos (Deputy Head of Mission of the EU Delegation to ASEAN), and Mr. Lee Yam Ming (Executive Director of AHA Centre). The highlight of the event was the launch of ARMOR 4th Edition, "Rendering 2023 Disastergram: Is ASEAN on the Right Path for Sustainable Resilience?" which was followed by a group photo session with the authors.
Following that, an insightful panel discussion ensued, expertly moderated by Mr. Said Faisal, a distinguished former Executive Director of the AHA Centre. The panel, consisting of esteemed experts such as Ms. Oktavi Andaresta (Disaster Analyst, BNPB Indonesia), Mr. Sadhu Zukhruf Janottama (Disaster Monitoring and Analysis Officer, AHA Centre), Prof. Randy Ian F. Gallego (Associate Professor, Mindanao State University), Mr. Shaikh Fairul Edros (PhD Candidate at NTU Singapore), and Ms. Hannaletchimy Housset, PhD (Monitoring Manager (Asia Pacific), IDMC), delved into crucial topics including sustainable resilience, disaster risk, policy and stakeholder collaboration, as well as innovation and technology.
